jet hot long tubes installed

hey, just did the jet hot long tube install, it went very smooth, a very easy install,

i did not recieve my y-pipe yet but as i look at the drivers side header it looks like it is pointed right at the trans crossmember,

does anyone else with the lt1 jet hots have any pics of the drivers side header from the bottom, i would like to see how others look when installed, i can take pics if anyone wants to see mine,

also the drivers side collector flange is right tight against the floor, and i have brand new gm motor mounts and a pa k-member

it just does not look like there is any way a pipe or collector will fit on the drivers side

thanks, jay

I have this same problem with my Jet Hot long tubes. I have a custom y-pipe that was made for Hooker long tubes, and there's no way it's going to fit on the Jet Hot collectors. So it looks like the Hookers and Jet Hot are different after all.

in order to fit my hooker y-pipe i had to make a new trans crossmember to drop the trans 3/4", and i had to cut a 1/4" out of the drivers motor mount bracket and re weld it together, then it fit perfect,

yes thanks for the pics, after seeing how yours fit i knew my hooker y-pipe would not work, until i got the engine and trans lowered to get some clearance.

but it was an easy fix, plenty of clearance now the headers and y-pipe look and sound great,

i used a little high temp silicone around the pipes that slid into the y collector and at the #1 slip joint and no leaks

also the bolts that come with the headers suck, the 7/16 head is too big 1/2 of the bolts you can only use an open end wrench to tighten them, i bought a set of heddman bolts with a 3/8 hex head now i can tighten all the bolts with a socket or box end wrench

yep, I got the ARP's with a 12 pt 5/16 head, they are stainless and very easy to get to.
