jet hot install..please help

hey guys,

i just got my jet hots and i need some advice. i removed the old exhaust manifolds and i'm stuck. i read some old posts that had to do with removing the starter and the oil filter, but i was hoping for an easier way. does anyone have any advice on what the next step is? i can't get either header to clear. what should i do? do i remove the starter and the oil filter? is there a step by step guide that i don't know about? my car is on jack stands outside my house and i need it for work on wednesday night. any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

Re: jet hot install..please help

I just helped a buddy put a set in on Sunday. My 3rd set to install. We had to remove his starter, but did not remove the oil filter. Both sets went right in from the bottom. Did not even have to loosen a motor mount. This was on a lift though, so we could stand the header up pretty good. You may not be able to get the car up high enough on jack stands to do this. You may have to lift the motor up.

Re: jet hot install..please help

if you are on jack stands your probably going to have to jack up the motor.. Just loosen the one nut on the motor mount and take the weight off of it and pull the bolt out and jack it up.. Should slide right in on the passenger side with the starter out.. On the driver side get the oil filter out of there and loosen the 3 bolts that hold the K member to the car (should be pretty easy to spot, they are 18MM) lower it down a bit and you should be able to slide the header right in without jacking up the motor.. go here: http://www.theheadfl.com/jethotlt.htm.. hope i helped.. good luck! oh and wrap a towel or something around them while your sliding them in.. they are pretty dont mess em up!
