Unhappy Jet Hot Install: THE Passenger side

OK I am about to go on a murder rampage! How the F am I supposed to get the damn ed passenger side header in there. I tried jacking up the engine....not even close to working, I cannot raise my car past the height of the jacks. I need this car ro run by noon on Monday and all I have to do is get this passenger side header in there and then reinstall everything. PLEASE help me out here. I cant figure out how to get it in there. (Want to kill designer of car!)

Hey congrats on the headers you will love them.
Having done a set of these myself, here is what you have to do. You need to jack the car up VERY high, but be safe about it. I jacked up both the front and back of the car as high as i could. Then go back to the front and get some cinder blocks and put your jack up on them. Then jack the front back up again, this should give you enough clearense to get it in. You have to hold the header at such a sharp angle which sucks cause you have to get the car up very high. But i think you should get the idea on what i am getting at. Good luck.

Do you have any 4x4 wood blocks? this is what I used on both the LT installs I have done.
Be safe, but you need to get it higher.
Find some wood blocks.

Yeah the car needs to be high, at least 2 feet. I must have jacked the motor up about 3 or 4 inches to get the header in but it went straight in without a problem once I got the motor up. Actually it was kind of easy.

I think every one has pretty much hit it on the nose. The key to it is getting the car up high enough. Just the jackstands isnt anywhere near high enough. Use blocks of wood... bu just be safe about it. Once its up about 2 feet, you cna slide the header right in.

Definitely, as everyone else has said, get the car as high as you can. The front of my car was around 3 ft in the air before mine went it. I also didn't haven't to jack the engine. They slid in very easily. Just make sure they car is really high.

Sorry for the off topic, but the EGR connectors from my stock manifolds are too small for the Jethot header threads. I'm in the middle of the install but the stupid EGR connectors are too small. Anyone know how to fix this?

You need to go to a hardware store to get a nut, bolt, and some washers to attach the EGR fitting to the long tubes. You're also going to need to get adapter fittings for the AIR tubes also.

If you're having problems getting the passenger side in take out both motor mount bolts and jack up the motor to get them in. You need to get the car as high as possible.

do NOT use cinder blocks!

Anyway, I was under the impression that jet hot headers are the same as hooker LTs... if so, install the pass side through the top!

its easy(er)

I did not need either of those to work the EGR or AIR. My AIR fittings went right in, and the stock egr bolt threaded into mine.

Well the install took me A LONG time. I started midnight on Friday and finished around 8pm Sunday. I did it mostly by myself though. I ran into a few problems. The second bolt from the front on the passenger side will not go all the way in. I cranked it as hard as I could and it still has about 1/4 in thread showing. It wont go in str8 either. The EGR tube doesnt have enough play in it to get it in to the hole on the headers. My air bag light is staying on now. And I dont have OVC wires but I do have taylor heat sleeves. One of the passenger side wires are resting on the header. I tried to get it off as far as possible, but if I use a metal tool to do it and it rubs on the header, then sparks fly all over. Anyone have any opinions on these things please let me know.

Thanks so far for all the help.

With the bolt that won't go in all the way, put a washer between the bolt head and the flange. That'll make it'll make it go on snug.

That's funny, I can't even get 2 bolts on the passenger side header even started
