Jet has a new MAF
Guinea pig's ****. Until you max the stocker out you arent going to gain enough to worry about it and even then its marginal. Doesnt get much more free flowing than a round channel. That little screen in there isnt hurting a thing.
The only reason anyone ever saw a gain descreening thier maf or putting in a different one is because the stock wot tune on the lt1 is a pos and its about0.75-1 full a/f ratio rich in my experience. The descreened maf screws up the calibration and it reports less air so less fuel is injected and you make more power because you're running a more correct a/f. The downside is it screws up your low airflow readings and fuel trims nicely. Too bad you spend all day at airflows between 25-70grams/sec without getting on it, right where it screws it all up good.
Bigger maf's I can sort of agree with but you better be making some REAL hp before you start worrying about that. I've seen a couple guys who were making 550-580fwhp on the engine dyno switch to a large size lsx type maf and pick up almost 5hp after tuning,
dare to dream.
