If your on a tight budget, just buy some cheap lifetime warranty auto store ones.

Agreed. Get a pair with good heat resistant boots, etc and make sure they have a good warranty. That will get you going for now.

Is the engine basically stock, or has it been highly modified?

Re: Jegs or Street Fire MSD

I just can't agree with buying some cheap wires for temporary use. To me, that's false economy and a pain in the butt as the wires aren't the easiest to change. I'd spend the extra on some quality wires. Warranty's don't cover the time/effort it takes to take the old ones off and put the new ones on..

That said, we don't know who makes the wires that are sold under Jeg's or Summit Racing's house brand. I sincerely doubt they make them but I'll bet it someone like Taylor or MSD. Ask the customer service person at Jeg's if the Wires are American made or not.

I just had a thought..Amazon sells stuff fairly cheaply. Look here: http://www.amazon.com/MSD-Ignition-3...1996&carId=002

I'd also stay far, far away from store brand wires like those sold at Autozone or Pep-Boys. My daughter bought a set and they were already bad out of the box...cracks in the insulation, really low quality boots, etc.
