JB weld on intake manifold ?
JB weld on intake manifold ?
I'm making a cheap EGR block off plate by filling the intake
side of the EGR valve with JB WELD. My question is will
it hold up to temperature ? This is a cheap fix until i can
get the block off plates. Any questions ill answer. Thanks

Ive used it to seal a pin hole in a copper radiator tank and it held for 2 years with out leaking. Im not sure I would use it to block off the EGR on the intake side. For one its difficult to remove and its extremely hard. If a pice ever came loose into the intake it could do massive damage.
I would think the hole to be too big for jb weld, but if you think you can do it go ahead
But keep in mind that if it should come loose and go into the intake, it would cause major damage. If at all possible, wait until you get the plates, only $12 a piece from TPIS. You could also fabricate some yourself rather than going jbweld.

you dont need to even take off the egr valve unless its already stuck open. you can go to the local hardware store and buy 1/8" steel plate and use a grinder or cutoff wheel to make a blockoff plate though for the egr valve and both ends of the pipe. just use the orig. parts or the gaskets as a templete.
