Its official...my car is now a cruiser
I'm glad I checked this thread, you guys are great thanks for all the info. As far as the car it only has 62k miles on it, I've used nothing but Mobil 1 since I got it with 42k miles on it. Also I know the entire history of the car, the previous owner bought it new and had it serviced at the dealership I bought it from. They had every reciept on the car , the first one was at 3k miles for its first oil change. Nice when you know the history of the car like that! As far as something wrong with the motor, LT1's are known for how hearty they are so I kinda doubt it especially since this car is so close to stock. More on the fuel pressure I forgot to mention I did drive with it connected and the car has 45 psi at redline so I doubt its fuel pressure. Now on to the plug wires, I have Accel Super Stock wires (the ones you cut to the size you need), I needed them since I had to go OVC with my Hooker LT's. I had the stock wires on it when I first ran with the Hooker LT's, and changing to the Accel's didn't get me any more performace, but I could run them OVC for peace of mind. Now with my RK Sport headers I can't run them OVC since the emissions check valves get in the way , so I just ran then under the headers and zip tied them away from the heat. The wires are over two years old now however, and they are hardly high buck wires. Thing is if I had a cylinder misfiring you think I'd notice it?? I met Gregg 97Z from the board here at Maple Grove last week (really great guy BTW) and he told me on his car he never felt that he had a bad cylinder until he had the car scanned. Makes me wonder if maybe my wires ARE at fault. Running new wires will be a pain so I'd like to get it scanned first, I'd also like to get stock size wires since the ones on it now are WAY too long. Lets try to keep this thread going, wierd problems like this are what the forum is for............its nice to know how to fix nagging things like this rather than the usually "Will an airfoil give me an extra 20 HP" type posts.
