It's almost alive.. questions inside

I am getting ready to fire my car up. What should I do.. pointers etc.. prior to firing it up after 4 months of istting and a new top end... I am pretty sure of everything I need to do. But you never know.... TIA guys

Get a fire extinguisher.. Start it.. Look at it.. make sure oil pressure, and such isupto par.. check for leaks/smoke most of smoke will be fingerprints for a little bit.. if smoke continues shut off and find source of.. if all else is well.. Go eat some dinner letting it idle.. then take it fora stroll making sure oil pressure rises and yada yada yada.. break it in properly and have fun.. Put the bottle in the garage while breaking in..

I heard somewhere that when left sitting for any period of time you should disconnect the coil and give it a couple of cold cranks to get some oil up in the motor. I don't know if this is correct or not, but I did it when my car sat for four months and didn't have anything bad happen.

Someone please tell me if I'm blowing smoke here about this.

thats true.. its so you can "prelube" the motor...
