Re: Issue?I have a question

IMO free is NOT the way to go especially if your sacraficing to be able to use the free part. Alot of time its more than beneficial to just spend the money!!

my question wasn't if it could be done mechanically I know all of these partscan be swapped and used, the ? was will my car sill start with the older opti (93-94) on a newer wiring harnessed car (95) that's all. didn't askto source parts or fr what parts to use.

JUST ASKING IF THE SAME 4 PIN FEMALE PLUG ON THE 94 SPLINED SETUP WILL PINOUT THE AME WAY AS F I WAS ON A 95 OPTI FEMALE PLUG.
Let me put it this way, did you tell the guy you got the free cam from you would only want his free cam if he got the pin removed? Of course you didnt because its obvious thats overstepping an expectation of the "free". My point was an internet forum is a place for free help and opinions and the content isnt yours to control, the control is delegated to the moderators because the info is for public use. You was answered in the first post by shoebox and then the consensus of the forum is your not making the best choice(that info is important to provide for others who search this topic or that land on this thread). Everyone who posted recomends a different aproach than goin back to the non vented(and for good reason). Remember you understand you cant make unreasonable requests to the guy you got the cam from and its just as unreasonable to expect other members of the forum to not express their concern both for you and every future reader of this thread. Just think for a few minutes how you will feel if you get it all back together and the opti craps out in a couple thousand miles or an issue with the cam and were you will be then cost wise and time. Then compound that with the fact the unvented opti is the one that is more prone to fail fresh out of the box and the quality ones are $350 up. There is a reaeon why GM and every person who posted on this thread recomended not going that route.

This thread has outlived it's usefulness and will be closed. There is no point arguing with someone who doesn't want your feedback.
