IROC intake on a LT1 engine?? help
I'm in the process of doing a LT1 swap into my IROC and I was wondering will the IROC intake setup and boot work on the 97 LT1 engine with the MAS. Or would there be any kind of better setup for my LT1 to route to the IROC intake that mounts to the front of the car because I would like to use that setup. Maybe combining a corvette duct from the throttle body to the MAS then to a modified intake duct from there to the plastic intake?? Just curious if anyone has done this or know a way this can be done.
Thanks for the help.

Is the intake on your IROC any good? Basically asking if it is already modified or outright aftermarket. If stock it would likely be a big choke.
It has been YEARS since I have messed with my old TPI Iroc. There is a mod you can do to take out the baffeling in the intake track, which is suppose to increase the air. There could be a problem with water, though. I never did get to test it out or even do the mod. A deer took care of that for me.
yea.... i thought since iroc airbox gave a straight shot from the air damn below to the throttle body it would be the best way to go, but also posted this same question on thirdgen.org and people on there also said that the setup i want to run using the original iroc airbox would be restrictive like some of you are saying. I'll have to look into the LT1 elbow and air cone, but im not sure if its going to fit since I had mounted the power steering res. next to my washer fluid res. and I'm not sure if theres gonna be enough room. But thanks for the help and If anyone else has any suggestions please share!
Here's a pic of the engine bay so far.

I was looking at the LT1 elbows... the MAF will mount to the end of the elbow before the filter cone, but what is that giant piece that goes straight down?? what does it do? and is it necessary??
Sure, You can get an aluminum one from Summit. Either the trick flow or vortech elbows.Either way, they do not have the silencer on them. I have the Trick Flow. You will need to drill a small hole for the opti-spark, if yours is vented and the IAT senser will need to be threaded as well to fit into the elbow.
