Interesting Opti Failure & QTP E-Cutout
I just replaced my opti today, and just wanted to let all you guys know... apparently the seals on the opti (behind the pickup) can go bad, causing oil to leak into the opti. This pretty much hoses the opti and you get really erratic starting (sometimes the car won't start for an hour, then it'll start right up), crazy misfires, and lots of stalling.
A reman'd pickup from NAPA, a new "cap and rotor", and new waterpump (for good measure) later, and the car is running like a champ again (FINALLY!).
I also installed the QTP e-cutout today, which is f*ing awesome! The car sounds bad ***.. and it seems to rev a lot faster.. especially above 4500rpm.. I mean a LOT faster.. I let my foot off the gas at what felt like 5500rpm, and the tach kept going up until around 6500rpm, before it began falling again!
