Intake & Splash Guard

When I installed my SLP Intake I never removed the factory splash guard, so the intake is getting it's air from the hole where the original airbox used to be. Is this hurting it at all? Thanks

Thats fine. It gets air from that opening behind the tire. At WOT it can pull all the air out of that space. I dont think there would be a difference by just removing that plastic shield. IMO
