intake porting

Does anyone know where the best place to have intake porting done around the midwest area. I live near chicago and would like a close place if possible. I just dont want to have a ****ed up intake and the person who did it is 3000 mile away if you know what i mean. thanks dan

Why are you getting it ported? Unless, you are going to use big a-market heads flowing a ton, I'd think that the stock intake is quite adequate. And as you mentioned, if they do a lousy job, your only recourse (in the real world) is to buy another intake. JMHO

Re: intake porting

i need it to flow for 1000hp. i am biulding a turbo motor and if i can't flow through the intake how do you expect me to flow through the heads and i do not want to sacrafice integrity of the intake by doing it myself.

I am sure he didn't want to here that but I think it needed to be said.

If building a motor that stout you are going to have the heads done right? Well just give the intake to the head porter. Whoever ports the intake is going to need the heads in-hand anyway for something like this.

I would send them both to Lloyd of A.I., I have known a few people that have used both (I went with Lloyd) and neither will screw you over and they both know what they are doing when it comes to LT1's.
