Intake manifold install

When screwing the vacume connectors into the intake manifold should I use a sealant on the threads? What kind of sealant would you suggest? Also on the water pump when installing it what kind of sealant would you use here. I figured that since the opti sets right underneath the water pump that you would use a sealant with the gaskets to make sure that there were no leaks. I sound like a newby. I use to work on my own cars when I was younger and I new all of these answers. I hate getting older.

Teflon tape or thread sealant/pipe dope on the vacuum fittings. Water pump gaskets can be installed dry or with a very thin film of RTV (helps hold them in place). Thread sealant on the w/p bolts.
