Intake Manifold gasket and trans braking?
Intake Manifold gasket and trans braking?
I am going to look at a 95 Z28 with a new engine in it. The kid who owns it now was telling me that it is not recommended to trans brake with the car because the LT1 engines have a tendency to suck in the gasket. Is there any truth in this? He said the gasket has been replaced already due to this.
The engine in the car has a warranty, with only 4 thousand miles on it. Is there anything I should look for specifically on the car when I go to check it out? I know the optispark and waterpump were replaced with the new engine. Also, the warranty on the engine does have a transferrable warranty.

LT1s have a tendancy to get intake manifold leaks along the back rail, but that is due to the poor quality gasket they come with and the location of very hot emissions components.
Doing the job correctly with the right high temp sealant will prevent the notorious leak from coming back again
