intake manifold !!
intake manifold !!
So i started to take out all of the stock intake to make way for a new c.a.i & throttle body, by the time i took off the stock throttle body,
I looked inside and had seen that the whole intake manifold was just cover with crap....ahhh so i just stoped, what should i do about this?
what does a polishing cost?
Is the motor still worthy?

Re: intake manifold !!
What your seeing is probably oil. Let me find the post.. ill get back to you.. It comes from the valve cover though, through the line that goes to the TB. I apparently happens on high mileage LT1s. When my motor was still running I used a deutsch breather filter from auto zone for like 3 bucks, stuck it in the valve cover and put the line on that.. ill get back to you gimme about 5 min..
Re: intake manifold !!
here I found the post.. Its a deutsch BF412 breather.. It keeps the oil out.. For the most part.. They dont last too long though, my solution was to change the Deutsch breather and the PCV valve every 2 oil changes. heres the post:http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226570
To get that stuff out, while the TB is off get some carb cleaner and spray inside the intake.. dont hit the TB with it though, i heard it takes off the teflon coating on the TB, for that you use TB cleaner..

.. And putting a breather on the valve cover only intoduces air into the pcv system and send clean un meterd air through the engine. computer can correct it but I wouldnt recommend it.. You could delete the whole PVC system, valve and all if you wanted to i guess.. I dont see why.. Alt Jar and Injuneer have convinced me to keep mine..
