Re: intake elbow, all the same?

The same thing happened to mine. You could get a 1LE elbow which dosn't have the resonator(i think that's what it's called) in it and flows a little better then the regular one. Or you could get a Trickflow or aftermarket elbow. I went with the 1LE as i like to keep my engine stock appearing and also it seems the aftermarket ones would retain more heat because they're metal instead of rubber, like stock.

You can pick up the 1LE for about $65, aftermarket ones go for about $80.

just order an 1LE from one of the discount dealers. It'll get rid of that "donkey dong", and to answer your question no they're all the same.

Re: intake elbow, all the same?

The stock intake elbow has the large hole on the bottom for the silencer tube. The 1LE intake elbow deletes the hole for the silencer. Then there are the metal versions that are more robust; Trickflow and Votech make them.

Re: intake elbow, all the same?

I have heard that the metal elbows (like Trickflow, Vortech, etc..) get heat-soaked after driving a while which might increase IAT, lowering power. I dont have any experience with this, so I have no idea if this is true or not....

By the way, I got my new 1LE elbow from gmpartsdirect.com for like $50

Not exactly. 93-94s are slightly different than 95-97s because of the opti vent.

I should of clarified. I meant they were all the same as far as performance gains, which they all provide none.

How important is the opti vent? I broke the rubber connector to the optispark and I never replaced it.

If you broke the fresh air inlet to the opti and left it open, you are pulling dirty air into the opti. Not good for longevity.

The complete vacuum harness is p/n 12555323 at your friendly GM dealer. If you only need a small section of hose, you can splice that out with vacuum line from an auto supply store.
