Intake Elbow

Think this will be fine?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

Or should I go ahead and get a vortex or trickflow from summitracing??

Re: Intake Elbow

I saw that, but...I be on the safe side and stick with a ceramic coated one from summit. I just don't trust anything that cheap with my car. However if you can find a brand name on ebay get it!.

Re: Intake Elbow

I agree with Schweet97Z...I have the Trick Flow elbow and the only difference seems to be the rubber is different. Just make sure they don't rip you off with the shipping.

I ordered this exact same elbow last week and just got it from UPS today. I'm very disappointed in the quality. I don't know how familiar you are with metallurgy but this thing is full of porosity. It's basically what happens when you get air bubbles in the casting that make the part look like a piece of Swiss Cheese. I've been sanding mine down all afternoon, and it got the the point where the air bubbles got so big that I had to get out the torch and braise it with some Alumalloy. I had originally planned on polishing mine like most people do but after having to Alumalloy it and running into yet more air bubbles after sanding THAT down I'm gonna just cut my losses and paint it.

Only buy this thing if you don't care too much how things look.

Oh and one other thing: guess who's name was on the packing slip that came with the elbow? Granatelli. That explains alot.

Re: Intake Elbow

Are you interested in the Trickflow elbow just for the visual appeal or for a little performance gain? If you don't care about how it looks, then an 1LE elbow is a cheaper option.

Re: Intake Elbow

1LE elbow! You don't need anything more than that unless your running some boost.

Do you have some photos you can post of the quality?

Re: Intake Elbow

Thinking about running a Ceramic coated Trickflow Elbow for my 383 D1 setup.
Question I have has anyone run one of these elbow setups with a Monoblade

I would figure it fits But I want to make sure???????

Re: Intake Elbow

LT193 and T/AKid you should both be fine with the elbow. the only thing changing to my knowlege is just the bore of the blades....which shouldnt affect the inlet bore

T/AKid, why the monoblade? ive heard alot of horror stories about that t/b i think the 58 should do just fine

Re: Intake Elbow

Schweet97Z, The Lt1 intake lacks Runner length and Plenum Volume, something that Greatly reduces the performance of our motors, Thats why I Spent $1650+ on a Converted Single plain with a 90mm TB setup (for my original N/A Setup) that intake would have enough runner Length and Plenum Volume to make an additional 40 RWHP and around 45RWTQ throughout the whole RPM range and at peak it self.
The Monoblade is so Big (1300CFM) it makes the LT1 intake ACTUALLY HAVE plenum Volume, thats a Definate Gain.
My Buddy Turbo_6 has a 383 SR setup with a Ported AFR heads and a a LT4 intake with a Monoblade and made close to 480RWHP with a opti issues.

I decided to trade him my Super Vic for his Ported runner LT4 intake and Monoblade and a little bit of cash. His motor could Greatly see a Benifit from such a intake and will post BACK TO BACK DYNO TESTS within the Following Weeks .

So basically thats why I am running the Monoblade.
1st its a better TB and 2nd I got a deal on it.
Remember you can't go to big with a TB on a Fuel injection car, a Carb would be different.
For a Blower setup I would definatly want to go with a monoblade.
My setup will make over 600 RWHP if everything is done the way it should be, lol
Ported LT4 AFR Heads By LE, Ported LT4 intake and Monoblade, Bret Bauer Blower cam, Victory Racing Low compression 383, D1 procharger and a FMIC running about 10-14lbs of Boost
Nothing too Special but will be fun as hell to drive
