Re: intake advice

with your mods you don't really need one. Just wait till you get the LE package and have him port the intake too.

Don't know which one? Which ones have you seen? There hardly are any out there because most people don't need them.

Re: intake advice

Sell the hpp3 on ebay and get madz28.com or pcmforless.com programing...its alot better. No you do not need a new intake it would be a waste of money, lloyd can just port yours.

This is what scares me about this site people handing out **** poor advise like this.
Rocker ratio has to work with heads and cam, he didn't list cam specs(and Lloyd has a lot of options) and if he blindly follows this advise but then also buys a cam with sufficient lift with 1.5s he could do damage to the engine by smacking the retainer off the seal and guide.

I think you jumped the gun on that dude a bit quick. slp97camaro doesn't even have a cam yet. Plus I am sure L/E would know what to do for him if he told him that he already had 1.6 rr's.

This is why is said what I said, the guy pretty clearly stated intentions to upgrade heads and cam in the near future. Figure out the package before buying parts. Even if the heads and cam are a year off it would be a waste of money to buy 1.6 now if the cam he was going to use needed 1.5 which would having him buying another set. All I was really saying weas to figure out what the package will be before buying parts, if the cam nd head combo will support 1.6 then sure buy them but telling him to buy them before specing those parts is what was really jumping the gun. Sort of like telling someone to buy pistons before they decide to go stroker or how much overbore they need .
If a head and cam upgrade is a distant goal then sure 1.6s would be fine just realize you might have to buy rockers again come that time.

ZMAN Z28 sent a PM and I will count this as my reply since apparently he is not the only one who disagreed with me.

Re: intake advice

If you look at Lloyd's website, there is no mention of the packages containing rocker arms. So I would call the vendor to see if they need roller rockers or not. Personally I wouldn't want to run one of those packages with stock 1.5 non roller tip rockers.

96capricemgr:

Since the packages don't say they come with rockers, which I doubt. Look at the prices. One wouldn't get the same gains as they would with the proper set up. Yes I do agree with you, that you should make sure your combination works, or you could damage things. But we can only help on the board, its not the board members responsibility to do the work for ones self.

Re: intake advice

Lloyd recommends 1.6 NSA RR....................1.6 RR are a good mod.
