installing OPTI

ok cam is in double roller timing set is on #1 cylinder and #6 are at TDC
and timing marks are lined up dot to dot and straight up no advance or retard
now on the back of the opti is a #1 and #6 both circled and 3 notches one of the notches has an extra lil notch in it also, the notch that has the extra lil notch in it is the one the cam dowel pin goes into right?
installing it will put it at the #1 side of the opti and that should leave me with no timing troubles right?

anyone have any tips for me?
how critical is cam dowel pin length?
the cams pin i put in it measured out to be ~.564" and the stock cams pin that came out of it measured out to be ~.627 i couldnt budge the stock pin out of the cam to put it in the new one and figured since it is marginally shorter and not longer that i shouldnt really have any problems, cuz to my knowledge the only time you needed to swap pins was if the new cam came with the long pin and you needed to use the shorter one to work with the earlier optis......please tell me i am right?
i sure hope so!!

Yes, the slot with the extra notch is where the dowel pin goes. And if the dowel pin is too short it won't engage the opti correctly which could cause problems.
