Installing oil temp and coolant temp senders, please help!

Hey guys,

I know where to install the senders, oil, above the filter, and coolant, between 6 and 8 cylinders.

However, how are you guys accessing these areas? I briefly looked at the oil temp location, and it looks like my Jet hot long tubes are going to be in the way from looking at it and getting tools in there. I know shoebox has a picture of this on his site, wondering what angle he used to best get access to this?

And on the coolant one, the port is below the header flange correct? What size is it?

Thanks!

also, I forgot to ask, is the sender going to restrict flow in any way to the engine? Looks like it will go fairly far into the hole based off of how far it goes into the size adapter.

Would the oil drain plug be a better option?

PLEASE provide the year of your car! (I am so tired of having to ask ppl for this )

The coolant sensor for the gauge goes in between the #1 and #3 cylinders. You are looking at the mirror image location between 6 and 8.

If you have a 1993 or early 1994 with the oil pressure sensor by the filter, use some pipe elbows or something to move it out of the way of your headers or use the later model location on the back of the block.

The sensor will not restrict any flow. There is no flow to restrict at the sensor location.

The drain plug should not be considered at all. There is no pressure there, plus it would be in harm's way.

1995 camaro

where do you position the camera to take pictures of the hole above the oil filter? I slid under there and it didnt look like I would be able to easily access the hole.

If you have a 1995, the oil pressure sensor is on the back of the block like my pic. Why are you messing with the location by the filter?

I just stuffed my camera up there (from underneath) and clicked. I am not sure how that helps.

I have my oil temp sensor mounted in the oil pan drain plug (the port above the oil filter is already being used for a mechanical oil pressure gauge).

I have the coolant temp senor in a brass "tee" that is spliced into the coolant line returning from the steam tube at the back of the heads (your 95 is different than my 94 as to the exact routing).
