Installing motor from the top

I am installing my new motor from the top in my 94z. I know it is easier from the bottom etc etc. Where is the best place to put the bolts so I can move it around on the chain. I can get it straight down but, I still have to go back about 6inches to get on the motor mounts. Thanks for the help.

Re: Installing motor from the top

I used the TPIS Happy Hooker.
It locates at the center of the weight balance point on the top of the intake and uses one chain.

It works real nice and I recommend it.

I attatched a chain to the front and rear manifold bolt holes, and then just kinda put some weight into it to move everything where I needed it to go.

Re: Installing motor from the top

I used a leveling bar. It had 4 chains and bolts. I hooked two chains to the front intake holes and the rear two chains to the third or fourth intake bolt holes. That way it didn't hit firewall when putting it in. Just have to manuever trans a little by hand.
