Installing a LT-4 conversion kit

Well I'm installing a LT-4 conversion kit with hot cam to my 95Z m6. It has 95000 miles on it but the car has been really taken care of.... It hasn't been "dogged" and routine oil changes ect...
OK so its the wifes car......LOL....... I've got good steady compression on all chambers and I think it will be just fine.... I was wondering about the cam install.....I've been told that I would prob have to remove the motor or front cap to get the cam in.....any advice....... also any suggestions on what to use to get the old gasket material off......

You can swap the cam with the motor in the car, just pull the fan/ac/radiator setup out. As for gasket removal, I've had good luck with the scotchbrite "cookies" attached to my die grinder.

I agree with Josh above. You may not even have to remove the ac condensor, as ours are tilted to accomodate our lower hoods. Another option would be to loosen the ac lines and then swivel the ac out of the way and retighten. You'll lose some of teh R134a but if done carefully and quickly, should be minimal. The scotchbrite pads work wonders.

I don't think you have anything to worry about if the engine is in the condition you state. The good thing about going NA is that it really doesn't add too much to the stress level of the motor. I di my heads/cam at 80K. So far so good. By the way, I would be curious to what times/dyno numbers you put down with the complete LT4 conversion. I was a phone call away from doing it and decided that I was getting a great deal on my current setup installed. One recommendation I will offer before you install the heads. Do a little cleanup and gasket match. Nothing major, should be around $3-400 but will pay huge dividends in the long run. Your heads should flow around 240 @.500 stock. With a litttle cleanup, 260 should be easily attainable. Just a thought,

Kyle
