Question Installing Jet Hot LT's

I will soon be installing my rebuilt 355 back into my car (through the bottom) for which I bought a set of Jet Hot LT's. I was wondering if I am going to be able to attach the headers to the motor first and then lower the car over it or if I will have to install the subframe first and then jack up the motor and install them. Thanks in advance...

speed76demon is right. Space is pretty tight down there. You would have to be VERY careful to line everything up when you lower the car.

speed76demon-how do you like the sound of the hooker catback with no cats?

dont listen to these guys, if you are putting the motor in the bottom, you obviously have the kmember out, and headers will fit fine if you put them on out of the car

I know this is asking a lot of you, but could you give a quick install guide on that installation of the LT jethots. If not then maybe some really helpful tips or hints. I've searched and researched and found nothing on a proceedure to installing the jethots. I want to make this as quick and unpainful install as possible. I know it's going to be otherwise though . Thanks

I didnt say it couldnt be done, just that space is tight in there assuming that the entire front suspension is together and the car is to be lowered onto the k-member that care is needed.

Maximumvelocity-Jet-Hot LTs are a breeze to install. Just have some help. Install both from the bottom. Driver side slides right up. I had a hard time getting the slip in primary into the tube and sanded slightly on the primary. Still air tight and no leaks. Passanger side requires jacking up the motor (at least for me) about 3.5". Header slid right in. I installed mine mostly by myself and took forever.

Never done exactly what you are talking about but I don,t see any reason why you could not hook up the headers and then reinstall the subframe. I would go real slow and check everything as you lower the car.

Well for me it was the opposite of most my passenger side went right in from the bottom and i had to jack the motor up for the passenger side to go in. Just make sure you take your time and you'll be fine and dont break off the oil sending unit like a buddy of mine did on my car

One slip and the headers will most likely get bent.

Well I will be using a hoist and several people to help me line everything up, so hopefully it will all work out.

Here's are a couple of links for installing Hooker LTs on a 96-97 LT1, which will work for Jet-Hot LT installations too:
