Installing headers?

How hard is it to install headers really? I am thinking doing this and is there a big difference between shorties and lt's?

Thanks

it's not hard to do you just need to take your time and go step by step. don't get shorties!!!! mids and lt's have close to the same performance. if you have a ground clearance issue then don't get lt's. as&m or macs are good mids. i got macs and they work great.

Shorties are not so hard. Air tools make it easier but they are not necessary.
It does take a while to get it all done right. It's a good idea to put on new plug wires at the same time. Make sure they don't sit too close to the headers so they don't get burnt.

SLP's are good too! for the 94-95 cars that is. I gained 26 hp with them. They really are like mid-length headers too.

I would go shorties i have heard all states will be getting emissions in the next few yrs. It took me and a friend 10hrs to do mine but we had a few problems and several trips to the store. That time also included driving across town and welding up the straight pipe. I would think we could do them in about 6hrs now or less. It isn't that hard to do the worst part is getting the manifold bolts out without breaking them that had me really worried.

I installed my bbk shorties and had a broken bolt. This is when i realized that the general was lookin out for us when he designed late model heads with extra header bolt holes on the front and rear ports. My bbks also had both sets so i just slammed the bolt in the other hole and all was good. Hope this helps when installing your headers. Just remember be patient, persistant, and now you know why the fenders are plastic, lol. Prorac1
