Installing guideplates

Do you put the guideplates over the studs, or put the guideplates on, then studs on top?

Yes, take ALL of the studs out of the head, put the guide plates in one cylinder at a time and bolt them down to proper specs. Too loose can make them fall out. Too tight can cause breakage wether 2000 miles later or as you are bolting them on.

Do you know how to set your rockers?

If your talking about just putting the rockers on correctly, then yes. If your talking about adjusting them, I've never done it before, but I have the basic idea down.

Study up on how to properly set your valve lash. A lot of people do it incorrectly; some end up bending push rods

Be sure to get new studs that are for use with guide plates, the threads are a little longer as the stockers will not have enough thread once the thickness of the plate is introduced.
And I take it you have new rockers that are non-self aligning right?
And hardened pushrods that are for use with guideplates and correct length?
