how hard is it to do? about how long does it take? will i need anything special? i bought FMS 42lbers so will i need anything special? thanks!

 

I've swapped injectors back and forth many times on my LT1 and now it only takes me about 20 mins. Even the first time I did them it only took about an hour total time. The only thing sort of special you'll need is a fuel line disconnect tool.

 

You can swap injectors without the disconnect tool even. Its simple just pull four bolts in fuel rails and the fuel rail lifts up, then just pop out injectors. You will need tune to get use of 42lber's.

 

Blow off the intake manifold around the fuel injectors before you start so as not to drop any sand/dirt down into the intake. The injector wires are numbered so you shouldn't get things plugged in wrong. Also there a retaining clip that holds the injectors to the fuel rail. Slide the clip sideways to release the injector and note the position of the injector for installation of the new one. Put a light coat of oil on the new o-rings.

 

my tune is already for 32lb injectors. how much hp do you think i'll gain with the new injectors and the tune? thanks for the help.
