Installed my K&N FIPK today.

you can tell a difference but not a 10-15hp i dont think but its still looks better than that stock crap. Feels stronger in the top end. All and all id have to say i like it. I'd like to do the ram mod and cut the plastic and make the scoop underneath. But what im thinkin is makin it to where i can close it so when the weather is goin to be bad i can just do that. Any idea on that and does that mod help that much?? You get one mod and it just makes you wanna go even faster man its great

It takes a decent increase in hp for the seat o meter to register an improvement so chances are you actually got 10-15 hp.

I took off the splash guards and I run dryer duct hose to direct air to the filter. I get alot of crap for how ghetto it looks but then my Welds stick out on the back end too.
I try not to drive in the rain but sometimes it cannot be avoided and I have never had a problem.

So tell me, now that we've both done it... how long did it take you to get that friggin filter on and clamped upside down from under the car? The entire rest of the install took me like thirty minutes... getting the actual filter on and clamped in place took an hour and several languages worth of cursing.

I had the same exact idea. I think I am going to make a door type contraption on my undertray for a ram air type effect. Just make some sort of hinges so that I can open and close it any time I like.

The FIPK was harder to install than I thought. Bolting on the actual intake was fine but getting underneath the car and attachign the filter was a pain in the butt. It was worth it though. I could feel a difference. Nothing drastic, but well worth the money I paid for it. I love the sound when you start the car up and especially when you cut it off. Sounds like a vacuum.
