installed delteq, now problem...

I got my delteq and installed it tonight, started the car and it has a HORRIBLE miss along with a flashing SES light. I know last time i had a missfire on cyl 5 the light flashed 5 times indicating that was the problem, this just keeps flashing. Is there any way to check my coil packs to see if there bad? i bought them from a junkyard so it is very possible they are. any help would be appreciated

Im not sure what your problem is but i do know that when a engine light constantly flashes it means it is a cat damaging problem...wouldnt run it too long...

The most common cause of a flashing SES light is a misfire. Get it scanned and see whether its P0300 for random misfire, or a cylinder-specific misfire. As stated, the light flashes to warn you the misfire(s) may cause catalyst damage, not because its actually looking at your (missing) cats. Knowing whether its random or cylinder-specific could help you locate the problem.

I've never heard that the number of flashes can be correlated to the # of the cylinder that's misfiring.

Re: installed delteq, now problem...

ive got a guy comin with a spark tester tomorrow to see if all the coils are in working order.

When i burnt my #5 wire, SES light came on solid, flashed 5 times and went back solid. i was told by my brother who is an automotive teacher that the number of flashes indicates the cylinder that is misfiring.

Ok, i have spark thru all coils and to all plugs. Car has a bad miss in the lower RPM range and clears up after 2200. at idle if i pull cyl 3 or cyl 4 injectors it doesnt change the way the car runs like if i pull any other itll bog down. any suggestions?
