i was having opti problems the whole time my car wouldnt shift cause it wouldnt rev past 5500 rpm's so it wouldnt even reach the shift point. i installed the delteq and it ran great from the time i started it up to now. it would pull like a champ and run smooth as far as i could tell. now i can be riding down the road and the car will start spitting and sputtering and popping n stuff what gives i checked the plug wires and far as i can tell none of them were on the headers but they are very soft like the heat has bout wore them thin. could this be the problem or would they have to actually burn? ive been fighting with this car every since i put my heads n cam on and only got to enjoy it for a few days before it started messing up again. i get code 33 from time to time and i put on a new map sensor and im still getting it if that might have anything to do with my problem. sorry for the long post but anything would be appreciated..God bless

 

Well if the optical sensor is junk then thats the problem, the delteq uses that sensor. Its not throwing any opti codes?

 

no its not giving any opti codes. man dont tell me im going to have to get another opti too. but like i said after i got the delteq it was doing fine for a few days. it was missing like hell before i put it on though

 

Does the opti box have a solid red light when the car is running?

 

i havent checked that since i first put it on. i guess that is something i would need to check. does the heat bother them? one more thing sometimes when im trying to crank the car i catch hell getting it to start i have to pat the gas pedal while im cranking it. if that might help out anymore on this problem

I think i have the same miss at 5500 i went to the dyno and with all the mods in my sig i did 287 rwhp at 5400 and it didn't even wanted to keep going up to 6000 it just would go. I think i changed the opti a year ago and it has only been used less than 100 miles since (a year ago went into a shop then figure it was more serious and changed to another shop where it was until december.) Do you think that i could lose 100 rwhp because of the opti?

 

well if you arent getting all of your fire and the car is missing yea you will lose lots. especially with the opti being messed up. it was a night and day difference when i changed to the delteq. not to say its so much better then an opti as far as power but my opti was bout to crap out i guess. now i dont know what my problem is though.

 

I'm not sure it's the opti but for sure i got to change the plugs and maybe wires. I also have a Crane ignition so would delteq be better i mean for know that my opti works (if it works)
