That looks pretty good. If I did that the first speed bump I hit would eat that scoop for breakfast.

I should have made my own CAI. Oh well.

Out of curiosity, how do people feel a SOTP feel from CAI? I couldn't feel anythning until I did headers. And then the cam was even better. Your assmeters must be highly fine tuned.
lol i never noticed a diff when i had my K&N CAI. Then i did headers, catback and someother piddly mods. I then got my SS hood and traded for Ram Air i had to send my CAI out first and when i took it off i noticed a big reduction in SOTP feel. Once i put my Ram Air set up on it came right back though.

I did feel a difference with my setup. Im not trying to be an "a$$" or anything, but your "custom" CAI is not real cold air. The filter still sits in the engine bay meaning your pulling in hot air. My filter on my setup sits right were my scoop is, therefor pulling in cold air. Just my $.02

Yeah, my K&N is down in the fender.. sits right behind my scoop which I put in yesterday as a matter of fact.

That's probably why he said "custom intake" and not "custom cold air intake" :

yeah the K&N FIPK puts the filter into the box, and not much air can come in from the engine bay

Hot Rod mag in 1996 showed 18 rwhp going from the stock intake on a 95 to the K&N FIPK w/ no other mods

Not to be a ***.... Im a avid driver my scoop is there to allow more air into my engine compartment for my filter, if my filter was down were yours was itd get extremly dirty very quickly and also id be scared to run it if it was even the least bit wet outside, i will also be switching to a K&N FIPK in the near future, and i really could care less about people thinking little mods up horsepower enough to actually truely feel a change. But to one and there own thats my opinion.

I made a scoop (pics in my sig) and my CAI filter doesn't get so dirty. I do cover it up in winter and early spring, though. The few times I have driven in the rain without the cover I have not had any problems.
