Install prices for exhaust..these good?

A very good shop (quality work) gave me the quote of $269 for a new Random Tech cat, installation included, and $250 to install my hooker cat-back. In all, $519 for a new cat and installation of the cat and cat-back...is this in the normal ballpark?
Thanks

250 to install the cat back or 250 with the cat back

Seems to high to me, I had mine put in for 50 and now that I look back, I'd do it myself... I didnt know then what I know now though...

$250 to install a bolt-up catback is WAY too high. The shop I go to in Norman, OK charges $10 a weld, and $50 an hour for other work...just to give you an idea. Couldn't tell you about that cat. install, seems a little high since cat's are usually around 100-150 thru jeg's or summit.

Seems too high to me too. I had a shop install my true duals for $230. That includes them making a custom X-pipe, mandrel bent piping, welding, turndowns, and even a little bit of custom work to get my pipes underneath my passenger seat and then bent out to the center of my car. The shop did all they could do to get the setup right and worked really hard. So, considering I paid $230 for all that, just putting in a cat and catback for over $500 is high to me.

Save yourself some money and pick up a high flow cat from either Jegs or Summit. As a matter of fact, you can get magnaflow cats of ebay for 46 bucks shipped. Then have it put in for ~$50 bucks at a shop.

Second, as for $250 to install your hooker cat back... thats as much as the catback itself costs. If I were you and that was the only quote I could find, I'd do it myself. If youre capable, it should only take you 2 hours max with some basic handtools. I would think a shop would charge more than $50-75 to weld up some pre bent pipes.

Sounds high to me. I had my exhaust ran from the headers all the way to the tailpipe for $250. They supplied the pipe, made all the bends, custom fabbed a Y-pipe and all. I just supplied a muffler.

I paid $125 for my Hooker catback to be installed. This included modding my custom y-pipe to fit my Hooker whereas it was made to fit my old Borla system....or I would have installed it myself.

Hyper....that was 250 just for the catback. I do have 2 other places I am going to get a quote from. I hope they are a little bit more reasonable. Seemed high to me too, anyway, from what I have read on this board. I sure do appreciate everyones opinion and with helping me out. Now if I could just get a response from anyone (and I know there are a few)from central PA to clue me in on where they have work done around here......hmmmm.
Thanks everyone!
