Install Header on LT1

I have the current Items:

Header bolts,
Headers
Header gaskets

Do I need anything else ?
How do I install them on my SBC and if you have any important notes please let me know. I just need to make sure the bolts are tight right?

A lot of time and patience.

A nearby Taco Bell would help too...

Whoaaaaa guys... let's ALL calm down.

Here's a link to an install for JBA headers - might give you an idea of some of the issues, in painful detail:

Thanks Injuneer for the help. Sorry if I took his comment the incorrect way.

I have to agree that you will need a lot of patience. Some guys can get the job done in 1 day some in 2 ,some like me a week LOL . You will want some pb blaster for the bolts, if you are removing the AIR system metal line I would suggest a dremel. If you think you have every thing you need, still make sure you have some extra money for (just incase) like parts or tools that you might end up needing.

O2 extensions, better bolts (stage 8's), better gaskets (copper or aluminum), if you remove the AIR system you will want block off plates (not absolutly nessarily though). Hooker Y pipe if you don't care about cats. That's all I can think of now. Beer sure tasted nice at the end of the day!

Jack Stands or Rhino ramps.

collector gaskets and bolts

maybe some fire sleeves for plug wires too close to headers.

Zip ties to hold hoses away from headers.

memo pad to note any wires you disconnected and where they go.

Just a suggestion, but many have used felpro gaskets and ARP 1" bolts. The 12 pt bolts provide a bit more room between the primaries and the bolt heads. Of course much of this depends on the type of headers you have.

The header manufacturer may have instructions with the product or available on the web site, but the best info generally comes from those with experience in actual installation.
