Install Complete: first thoughts
Install Complete: first thoughts
Have all the mods in my sig in finally and car running. Its currently open headers.
I havent taken it past about 4k RPMs yet, so far it seems to run good, but not OMFG insane...but granted i havent really gotten into it yet. Anyone with this cam have any input on how yours runs at these rpms?
Does anyone think that open headers plus the 1.6rrs are yanking my timing? I have an LT4 KM im going to install this weekend. Then after an oil change ill be ready to see what she can do.
Any suggestions for things that might be making me run not quite right? With the install i also did new wires and opti, so they shouldnt be hurting me any.
With the open headers it seems too loud to really tell alot about things...Thanks for the input

Are you planning on getting it dyno'd with the new setup?
Thats the same cam I plan on getting eventually, but on a 114 lsa. I'd be interested to see what kind of numbers you put down, at the dyno and the track.
And are you saying you think there is something wrong?

Dont have any plans to have it dynod, no where local that does that. Gunna take it to the track this summer and see what it runs.
Not saying its not running right, just seems to run about like it used to. But like i said ive been taking it easy on it, not flooring it and keeping it below 3500, really babying it for the first 200 miles.
But i was kinda hoping with all the cash i spent the gains would be noticable even when driving like this, and like i said its so loud and shakes so much with the open headers its hard to tell whats going on.
I have noticed it seems to have kind of a "dead spot" at about 1000-1200 RPMs or so, if i try to keep it there it really shakes and sounds like its gunna die, but it idles fine (tho lopey) and above that its fine.

Edit: and yes, the tune will help street manners of the cam alot too.
