Instalation of lifters question asap

Instalation of lifters question asap

there is a hole on one side of my lifters does that face the front or rear of the car when i install?

It does not matter which way. The hole is there to let in oil which is all around the lifter when the engine is on. If the lifter fits inside the hole, then it is installed properly -- pretty much fool proof.

thanks for the quick help, also does it matter if they are reinstaled in the same order or does it matter if they all look good.

Obviously make sure that the roller end is facing down toward the cam.

no i mean do the lifters need to be in the exact same hole they were in before removal.

It is preferred, but not as important as it is on solid roller motors.

They should be OK not to. I faced all my holes towards the back since that's where the oil comes up.
