Which injectors do I need?

I need a little help here. I am contemplating if I need bigger injectors or not. This is what I have done:97 LT1 engine(still obdI) with a 218/228 cam, ported and polished heads by Lloyd(279/192), 52mm tb, felpro gaskets, hooker LT's, off road 3" y-pipe with magnaflow, tr-55's with msd superconducters with a msd 6-al, calloway cai, tb bypass, "madwolf" tune, 1.6 crane gold rr's, combination motorsports dual springs, 160* thermo, mobil 1, tranny cooler and shift kit. I don't know if the 97 injectors are bigger, but would I need to go to some 30#er's? If I do increase, is mpg affected. Thanks for the help.

its easier (better) to back off fuel then it is to add fuel
higher rated injectors (such as 30# SVO's) would prolly be beneficial to your setup!?

94-97 stock injectors are all 24# (24.9# in the PCM). You would appear to be at the point where a step up to a 30# injector would be a good idea. It will keep the duty cycle on the injector lower, extending their life and making the flow and spray pattern more reliable/consistant.

As long as you correctly update the PCM program for the flow rate and offsets of the specific injector you choose, there should be no change in the fuel mileage.... the PCM will simply calculate shorter pulse widths to offset the larger flow. There is no "down side" to a larger injector, as long as you don't go ridiculously large.

So, if I were to plan on adding more hp(100-150 shot) to the car, should I go ahead and get bigger injectors...36#'s?? As long as I update my computer for the injectors, would it be okay? Or is 30# good enough to handle the power? Thanks again!!

Okay, then I'll just stick with some 30# ones then. Thanks.

If you're going to spray a 100-150 shot, is it wet or dry? A wet shot doesn't use the stock injectors for the extra fuel - so the 30's are fine. A dry shot will typically use higher fuel pressure to get the extra fuel through the injectors... so the 30's should be fine. Unless you're using an aftermarket ECU that can increase pulse widths when you spray, in which case you might consider larger injectors.

So then, with the increase of the nitrous, the 30lb injectors will be fine? Besides the injectors and fuel pump, will there be anyother upgrades needed to the fuel system? Thanks for all the help!
