injectors : any gain from "matched" injectors ?

I looked on summit for 30# SVO and i've seen that they sell 2 kind of 30# SVO :

* one is red top (FMS-M-9593-B302 Fuel Injectors, EV1, 30 lbs./hr., 11-18 Ohms Impedance) for about 310$
* the others seems same but "matched" (FMS-M-9593-B302F Fuel Injectors, Matched, EV1, 30 lbs./hr., 11-18 Ohms Impedance) for 380 $

are the extra $$$ worth any gain in performance ??

Another one of those things, where if you are racing regularly and trying to get every last hp out of your engine, then yes.
For the street and occasional weekend racer probably not worth it.

If I had to do it over again I would have bought the matched set. It takes another variable out of the equation for horsepower. When doing the tuning of the a/f ratio it is more likely to be right for all the cylinders.

The O2 sensor is reading the average of the burns for all the cylinders. One could be lean and one rich. The lean cylinder could be lean enough to detonate much sooner than the other cylinders thereby effecting the total tune. You want all the cylinders to be burning as close as posible to the perfect a/f ratio for your motor. Thats why I would chose the matched set.

If you're running nitrous, flow-matched injectors are a very good idea.

I guess the question depend on the difference you can have between normal injectors on the same set. If it can be a lot, then yes it as a good thing and i can understand it can avoid a lean or rich condition in a particular cylinder.

I beleive best is maybe for me to order the matched to avoid complaining in the future not having them (and ordering something overseas is a real pain each time because of custom offices (i pay 50% of taxes on shipped prices))

In an LT1 application does it really matter considering the cyl to cyl variation in air distribution through the less than optimal intake? There is certainly WAY more variation going on there than is likely to occur with the injectors. Consider that.

Here's another thought:
Flowmatched injectors are supposed to be 'closer' than unmatched sets. How obsessive were you about headwork? Is EVERY cylinder, counting changes due to intake, flowing exactly the same? Do you go to the trouble of checking A/F on each cylinder with a wideband?

Less variation is good, in my opinion. I got flowsheets with my injectors, and put the ones that flowed the least on the cylinders that are typically richest... but as I have not gotten A/F by cylinder, I don't really know if it helped. I certain it didn't hurt.

I bought my injectors off Ebay, remanned Bosch injectors with a year warranty. I paid 240ish for 42pph.
