Re: injectors

I set up a small tank with lacquer thinner put 50 lbs of pressure on the tank and then just run the injector off of a 12volt car battery with a switch. This will clean the injectors. Did this to mine the other day and found five dirty injectors and four stuck half open. I would say from the two hours I spent taking them off and cleaning them I probably gained back over ten lost hp and improved idle gas milage performance and the engine runs smooth. you could set up a system lick what I shortly described above for around 5 - 20 dollars depending on what you already have, I had to buy nothing just used old parts.

Re: injectors

If you are talking about pulling up the rails, and looking at the injectors while you pulse them, all you need to do is supply a ground to the "non-pink" wire on then injector harness for that injector. The pink wire supplies +12V, the PCM uses the other wire to fire the injector by providing the ground.

Don't do it while the engine is hot.

Re: injectors

yea did that yesterday. pulled the fuel rail and pulsed the inj. one by one . WOW only had one inj. to pulse, so i pulled them all and started to clean them. bought the intake and fuel rail from a local on the board here. guess it had been sitting up for a couple of years. the old gas that i blew out with shop air smelled like panther ****. took some scrubbing to get the smell off the hands.

Hate to drag this up, but.....

Would it be safe to assume this would work on a speed density car also, given it's batch fire setup?? And how exactly should I go about grounding the "non-pink" wire?? Just a test probe into the wire or what??
