Info for those who claim their Flowmaster "Drones"
Many people here that have flowmaster complain about their flowmaster droning. Well, I have a flowmaster and it doesnt drone, however I think I know what some people are trying to refer to in the change of tone. When driving down the road, just cruising (not on the gas) and the rpms are above 1600, the fuel injectors shut off, causing the engine to act as an "air compressor". This here changes the tone of the engine, and isnt very well detected at 1600 rpms but more around 2000 when rolling down a hill in gear. The Fuel injectors shut off to save fuel and doing so makes a funny sound. For those who think that this is their problem, try LIGHTLY touching the gas and listen to the pitch of the engine...notice that it gets quieter and changes tone? I thought this piece of information could be helpful to those who complain about their exhaust. I am not having any problems with mine.
Great, that's why I'm always running at WOT.
But seriously I think the droning that's talked about is out on the highway, cruising. Yes, it pops a little when coming down a hill, or to a stop sign. That's not the droning though.

Yours pops? Weird. Mine does sometimes, but not when coming to a stop or cruising on highway, just when im in the really high rpm range and idling down...due to back pressure from the firing order of the engine. X pipe solves this problem.
I meant that it pops a little when coasting down a hill or coasting to a stop sign (decelerating). Other than that I love it. Loud and mean, and I don't care what people say about the flow numbers, the .5-1 hp difference isn't noticeable.
i love the way the flowmaster on my car sounds. It was on it when I got it, so i dont know what series it is or whatever. Sounds good all around.
also, anyway to figure which series i have by looking at it?

Either the 40 series or the 80 series. I got the American Thunder cat-back, with the 40 I belive. Only one of them will really work for the F-bod unless you want a 2OTL setup. The catback muffler is cross-flow.
I like mine as well. I have a 40's series on. Only 1 though. I am planning to replace it with an 80's series soon. I could either get another 40 series and have 2 or just one 80's. I think the 80's are too big to get duals. I have never had any problems with mine. I love the sound it gives off. Sounds great.
