Question induction question?

I've got a SLP CAI and we all know that it uses the little space in the fender well to suck up air. I've been reading ( http://www.charm.net/~mchaney/ramair/ramair.htm ) and since I just cleaned the air filter for the CAI kit, I left that bottom panel off. I don't think there's going to be any problem with that should it? I'm not going to do this as a daily driver but I am going to track next week and there shouldn't be any problems with that going down the track

At worst you lose a filter cause it falls off. Rain wont get in there till you start driving around in reverse.

I've been driving around for the last 2 years without it and no problems. The car rarely sees rain so I can't really speak for water issues.

I just plan on doing this for the track anyway so I'm not worried about rain

Heh, that happened to me once...K&N filter came loose and I ran over it and destroyed it. I keep that panel on now

I hadn't had any trouble w/ the filter staying on (knock on wood) and I've had my SLP intake for years now so I'll just make sure that the clams are tight

Yeah I actually sold my K&N...I always had problems with the filter falling off, I could never seem to get it tight enough. I am getting the GMPP one (same as SLP but polished) mainly for looks but hopefully the filters won't fall off.

slp cai, no panel, delivered pizzas with it for about 1 month, have been driving with no panel for about 1 year, through heavy rain and flooded puddles raching the bottom of the crank pulley, no problems yet
