Unhappy I'm finally in the 4 fourth gen message board

when i go to start the car it rotates slowly than picks up speed and then will start( all in about 7 sec)it's a 95 t/a I love the fourth gen cars. but I still miss the iroc. I just bought the car yesterday so it's under warrenty please help.

Might be your battery or a bad connection on the post of the battery. Try cleaning them off.

Put a volt meter on the battery with engine off. It should be at least 12.6 volts. Have someone crank it while you watch the voltmeter. See that it doesn't go below 11 volts while it's cranking. If it does, the battery is probably bad. After the car starts up, see what the voltage is. It should be above 13 volts. If it is, the alternator is good. If it isn't above 13 volts that does not mean the alternator is bad but could also be the battery. Have the battery tested before you replace it.

Be sure to clean all the wires and particularly the engine and chassis ground. Everyone forgets this one.
