Does anyone here know what the syptoms are for a ignition switch starting to take a dump? Does this switch affect the security system at all? How about the air bag circuts?
My air bag light and security light are staying on all the time and a GM Tech(hmm) told me the ignition switch can still start the car but cause those circuts to take a dump. Anyone ever heard or is anyone familiar with this switch and what all its controls? Any input will help, I just dont want to replace it if I dont have to..

When mine was dying, all the dash lights would go off along with the engine, because the power was being cut to the pcm. Don't agree at all with the "tech".

You may possibly have low voltage or a poor ground somewhere. Especially check the ground on the RH shock tower. Clean it and retighten.
