ignition maybe?

Here's my problem here lately my 94 ta when you turn the key to start it the dash lights up but it doesn't even try to turn oyver, you can sometimes just hold the ignition on and it will turn over but usually you have to turn i off, turn it on and hold it a minute and go throught that a few times then bam it just starts right up, what the hell could cause that?

Re: ignition maybe?

It could be the contact on the ignition switch is worn or the wire (smaller and possibly purple) on your starter is loose.
If the wire is not loose then take that wire off the starter, prod it with a volt meter and check the reading. I think the reading should be 12v.

Re: ignition maybe?

Forgot to mention when prodding the wire you must have someone turn the key to the start position before any voltage can be read.
