ignition fuse blowing

my car: 97z28, m6, heads and cam, headers, electric wp.
the ignition fuse keeps blowing. i checked all the wireing to cps, coil, and icm. i dont think it is the ignition switch because my fuel pump still turns on. if i replace the fuse the car will run for a 10-30 seconds then itll shut off. i still have the lights on my dash when it blows. it seems it will blow faster if i try to move the car rather than let it idle.
Anyone have any other ideas for what i can check?

Re: ignition fuse blowing

ive heard of people having this problem with an electric wp, but it seems they were running the wiring off of something else. my wp has its own relay, fuse, etc.

Yes i understand about the relay and its own fuse.. but wheres it getting its IGN HOT! from? when you turn the key on its pulling its 12V From a IGN ON 12V Source such as that in the Fuse block under the hood..

Re: ignition fuse blowing

right right...i didnt think of that. i think it may have been the wp then. i inspected all the wiring for that and i think the power wire for that my have been shorting out. i resituated and reinsulated everything and i havent blown the fuse again. ive run into alot of little problems since i started modifying this car and no matter what my girlfriend says, its all worth it.

Re: ignition fuse blowing

TTT
it seams it was not the water pump wiring. it is still doing it. if i just let it idle it will idle for a while but if i rev it alot of try to move it will blow. when i rev it the lights on the dash flicker. ive checked all the wiring to all the stereo stuff and gauges i added just in case they were doing it and they are fine. any other ideas on what to check?

Re: ignition fuse blowing

Check all your grounds. Make sure the 3 grounds under the nut on the bolt holding the coil are in place and make sure the nut is tight if they are all in place.
