Actually a lot of people notice the difference just adding a box. It helps smooth out your idle and sends multiple sparks to help more completely combust the air/fuel combo. The difference is also noticed a lot more to those not running boost or nitrous because their optispark system could be getting more worn down. So its not really imagination.

I mounted mine in the same place as My94, I bought it for the revlimiter.

I luvs my Mallory 685. I did notice a little more pickup on the highway when I installed it recently, plus I need it for a rev limiter on spray.

MSD Digital 7. Bit of overkill for your set up but it's got so many features,had to go to school to learn how to use it.

have you actually driven your car much since you put it there?
i fried mine the first night i drove it, i was thinking it was because i did the glovebox like you.

did you hardwire it or use a harness?
I have had mine in for about 6 months and I didn't use a wiring harness. It's my daily driver. I just mounted mine there to hide it.
