which ignition box for SAFE use with LT1?

Hey guys,

Trying to decide what ignition box to run on the lt1. I was leaning towards the digital 6, but the 6AL would do what I want. Ignition box with a rev limiter. Pills sucks but I think I'd only need 1 or 2 and be happy with them.

I'm just worried about the highter energy going through the opti. Is it good or bad for them? Anyone running ignition boxes on their lt1s? If so, what box and what mainstream mods?

My car is street and won't be radical by any means. I just want a good spark.

Thanks,

Igor.

cool, thanks. I have the msd coil as well. Think in the future will go with the msd opti as well, but still gotta troubleshoot my car and find out which part of the ignition is weak.

Anyone else?

ive got the 6al and have had no problems. its a very nice piece. im actually selling it if youre interested. my new setup will be turning 6500+ so i ended up getting a delteq and pulling my rotor, so my msd is useless to me. make an offer

Thanks, but I already have the 6AL on my '88 (383 on nitrous) and was thinking of taking that one off the '88 for the '95 and going with a Prog. 7 for the 383.

Thanks,

Igor.

I have the digital6 box. I haven't played with an timing retards, but it hasn't given me any problems ignition-wise.

I have a Crane Cam's Fireball Box and coil. They've worked very well so far on my stock bottom end with LT4 top end.
