If you've ever had a starting problem, inside plz

I had a very weird starting problem today, and wanted to see if anyone has had the same issue. Here goes-

I went to get something to eat at sonic, got my food and turned the car off. While I ate I left the radio on, and the blower was on low. When I went to start the car again I heard a click but the motor didn't turn over. I thought maybe the battery wore itself down, so I let the car sit for a few. I tried to restart it about five minutes later, and this time the starter just barely turned over and then quit turning, but the starter didn't click like if the battery was dead. I turned the key back on and checked the voltage, it was normal for what it should be with the car off. I let it sit for a few more minutes then tried agian. This time the starter dragged like last time, but I kept the key in the crank position. It slowly turned then stopped, I kept the key on start the whole time and it finally started cranking again, then a little faster, then I pushed on the gas and it started. The motor ran like it was on four cylinders!!! I had to keep my foot on the gas or it would die. No SES light came on though. Finally after about 30 seconds the engine speed jumped up quickly and it ran like normal

Help me out here!! I go to school an hour away from my house and if this car strands me I'm gonna be screwed

The click sounds like the starter but Im not sure why it would run rough for 30 seconds afterwards. You might want to have you battery checked out too. I replaced mine a while back when my car was cranking sluggishly(the gauge read normal though). It fixed it. You might have a couple things that are going bad at once. Im no professional, I just know whats happened to me. Good luck man.

Yeah I guess I'll pull the starter and see if I can test it. I wonder if I have a bad ground somewhere too

I would say it flooded out due to your starter not turning fast enough.Thats why it was running rough.

Take your battery in and get that tested with your starter.

You could also take in your alternator.

I agree, the battery died, mostly, but still enough to send the fuel, and sometimes crank a little. After turning the key on and off many times, there was a ton of fuel in the motor, and when it finally started, there was so much fuel that it was bogged down for a while, then went back to normal. You probably were smoking black a little when it was running like crap.

Just my guess. I'd say you're fine now, as long as you drove enough to charge the battery more.

I would guess battery also. It is probably getting real weak and will leave you stranded somewhere. I doubt it is the starter.
