Scooby is the vortech elbow coated at all? I have the Trickflow and it has ceramic coating. I can't really remember how hot my stock elbow got but i know that while my car is running i can just leave my hand on the trickflow. It doesn't get very hot. I'm not sure about the vortech though. I was sort of thinking the same as you were about robbing me of hp. So i bought a 1le elbow but it wouldn't fit with my slp cai anyways. So i stuck with it.
No the coating must really make a difference because mine gets almost as hot as the intake. You can't even put your hand on it after about 30 minutes of city driving. I may look into getting it coated. If yours isn't getting that hot then I would not worry about it. Thanks for the idea. I may send it off with my headers to get coated.

Marvin...

Next time you get locked out, take your towel and open the window by pulling it back. Unscrew your antenna and push it through the opening. you do not have to pull back on the glass much to do this. Use the antenna to push the power door lock button and unlock your doors. I have done this several times without fail.

Uddate!! Update!!

Took only one measurement today.. I got lazy sorry.

temp 123* farenheight, IAT resistance 990 Ohms
per Chiltons it should read 954 Ohms or 3.8% off

right where it should be.

I still need a couple of more readings at higher temps..
