my next choice would be headers. you'll see a big gain with that.

inexpensive mods:
-electric cutout because flowmasters are well known for being pretty restrictive.
-pullies
-electric water pump
-airfoil
-ZO6 maf

expensive:
-roller rockers
-long tube headers w/ dual electric cutouts

I dunno how much those (inexpensive) mods will help......besides the cutout and water pump, the other ones are good for like 5 HP total, I believe.....

A cutout would be a good idea, and it's around $50 including the weld. If you got the loot, headers would really open that exhaust up. The free mods would also be good.

You didn't mention whether or not you have a K&N Cold Air Induction kit or just the panel filter. If I were you, I would get the entire CAI, and also do the TB bypass

NX kit, 3,000 stall, cutout. Oh, and ET Streets for some kind of traction.

Question

I don't have the K&N FIPK, just the standard air filter.

About headers, what do you guys like?

Also, what all is required to install them?

Then you may want to go with a CAI like K&N, SLP, Morosso, they're all about the same.

Good cat-back exhaust before hassling with headers. If you can handle the noise a cutout is plenty effective and cheap.

A full CAI is also one of the first mods to do!

TB bypass is free and easy.

Always start with the easy air-in/air-out stuff before diving into expensive parts and headaches.

As always I will say "leave the MAF alone!"

Electric waterpump isn't for everybody. If you don't mind the fact that it can fail anytime than go right ahead but most of us use these pumps to run stronger timing sets with our cam setups, a few extra hp is an added benefit.

Depending on miles you may want to invest in a good tune-up!

Forget about the cat-back......for now it will only give you minimal gains, headers will really wake up an LT1. The $300+ for a catback can be used for some decent headers....

Hooker Lt's if you have no emission requirements
or either MAC's, or Hooker shorties will be good.

I wouldn't condiser a Flowmaster muffler much of a mod, you need to increase the size of those pipes or invest on a custom dual exhaust set-up. Now you are rolling.

CAI is a must.....!!!!!!!!!!!
Then gears

What ever you do, leave the MAF alone. What a waist of money. I'm still running my stock one on my solid roller.

I'd do headers and Exhaust.

You'd advocate running hooker longtubes through the stock exhaust and a flowmaster?

A cat-back gives about as minimal gains as a CAI, by your logic you should forget about the CAI as well and dive right into a monster cam and heads.

Or, maybe I'm the crazy one
