If I get a new opti, do I need an ICM??

I may bite the bullet and order a new opti, I believe it's the culprit with my car running like pure crap. I was wondering, if the ICM ever really goes bad that often and is worth replacing while I'm there, are they high failure like the opti, and is there a way to test the ICM??

Thanks
Brian

I don't believe the ICM is a common failure; I've got my original with 146K miles.

save some trouble and spend a few bucks on the delteq. The opticals rarely go and you won't make the mess or headache as screwing with anything else. Money permitting though as they do sell for around $550. I remeber seeing a group purchase awhile back.
